Who we are

Vindhyam ("Vindhyam", "we", "us", "our") operates the website vindhyam.in, a platform for booking Vedic poojas, astrology consultations, temple/yatra planning assistance, and a spiritual products shop. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through the platform, why we collect it, how it is used and protected, and the choices available to you, in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPDI Rules").

Information we collect

Account information. When you register or sign in, we collect your name, email address and phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google as authorized by you during that sign-in.

Booking and consultation details. When you book a pooja, request a consultation, or use the Kundali/astrology tools, we collect details you provide for that purpose — for example date/time/place of birth, gotra or family details for sankalp, preferred language, and the location where a pooja is to be performed.

Shop orders. For product purchases, we collect the shipping name, address, phone number and the items ordered, needed to fulfil delivery.

Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI or netbanking credentials on our servers — Razorpay handles that data directly under its own security and privacy practices.

Communications. If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we keep a record of that correspondence to respond to you and improve our support.

Usage and device data. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technology (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) to understand how the site is used and to measure the performance of our communications. This may include your IP address, browser/device type, pages visited and referring site.

How we use your information

We use the information above to: create and manage your account; confirm pooja bookings and coordinate priest/astrologer availability; process payments and issue receipts; deliver shop orders; respond to support requests; send booking-related updates (e.g. over WhatsApp or email, where you've provided that contact); and to understand and improve the website through aggregated usage analytics.

Date/time/place of birth and other astrological details you submit are used only to generate your Kundali/consultation output and are not used for any purpose beyond providing the service you requested.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only where necessary to provide the service:

• With Razorpay, to process payments.

• With Google, when you choose to sign in with your Google account.

• With the priest, astrologer or delivery partner assigned to fulfil a specific booking or order, limited to what they need (e.g. name, contact number, date, location).

• With Google Analytics and Meta, in aggregated/pseudonymous form, for website analytics and advertising measurement.

• If required by law, court order, or a government authority with lawful jurisdiction.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as language), and to measure site usage via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; some features of the site may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational security practices — including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access controls — to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration or disclosure, consistent with the SPDI Rules. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We retain your account and booking information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with our legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account data as described below, subject to records we are legally required to keep (for example, payment/transaction records).

Your rights and choices

You may access, correct or request deletion of your personal information, or withdraw consent for non-essential processing (such as marketing communications), by writing to us at support@vindhyam.in. We will respond within a reasonable time. Withdrawing consent for certain data may mean we are unable to provide the corresponding service (for example, a Kundali cannot be generated without birth details).

Children's privacy

Vindhyam's services are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older, or who are using the platform with the involvement of a parent/guardian for family ceremonies. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Changes to this policy
